Scanned PDF to Word converter AI

Got a scanned PDF you need to edit? This PDF to Word converter reads every page with text recognition (OCR) and gives you an editable Word document: paragraphs flow normally, headings stay headings and tables become real Word tables. Normal PDFs work too; their text is copied exactly. It reads English, German, French and Spanish.

Why use it

PDF to Word with ToolsCampus

Editable, not a picture

The Word file holds real text you can edit, reformat and copy, even when the PDF was a scan.

Tables become tables

Price lists, statements and reports come out as Word tables with their rows and columns.

Normal PDFs too

Pages that already contain text are copied exactly and are not limited; only scanned pages count toward the daily limit.

Questions, answered

PDF to Word questions

How do I convert a scanned PDF to Word?

Choose your PDF above. The converter reads every page, shows the text for checking, and you click Download Word (.docx). No sign-up is needed.

Will the Word file look exactly like my PDF?

It keeps the text, paragraphs, headings and tables, in the right reading order. It does not copy fonts, colours, pictures or the exact position of everything on the page, so it is best for documents you want to edit, not to reprint.

Is my file uploaded?

Yes, on this page only. To read the text, the PDF is sent to our own server, converted in memory and deleted as soon as the conversion ends. It is never saved to disk, stored, shared or used for anything else.

Which languages can it read?

English, German, French and Spanish, including letters such as ä, ö, ü, ß, é, è, ç and ñ. Other languages written with the same alphabet, such as Italian, Portuguese and Dutch, usually work too. Arabic, Urdu, Hindi and Chinese are not supported yet. Text that is already inside a normal (digital) PDF is copied as it is, in any language.

Is there a limit?

Up to 25 pages and 20 MB per file. Normal (digital) PDFs are unlimited. Scanned pages take much more work, so each visitor can convert 25 scanned pages in any 24 hours, shared with our other OCR tools.
