Image to Excel converter AI

Have a table on paper, in a screenshot or in a photo? This image to Excel converter reads the picture with text recognition (OCR), finds the rows and columns and puts every value in its own cell. Amounts, percentages and dates become real Excel numbers, so you can convert JPG to Excel, or convert a picture to Excel, and start adding up straight away.

How it works

Image to Excel in three steps

  1. Choose your picturesPick one or more JPG, PNG or WebP pictures of tables: a photo of a price list, a scanned form or a screenshot of a report. Up to 25 pictures at a time.
  2. Watch it convertEach picture is straightened and read on our server. Its tables appear as soon as it is ready, and cells the OCR was not sure about are marked in yellow.
  3. Check and downloadClick any cell to correct it, then download one Excel file (.xlsx) with all the tables, or a CSV.

Why use it

Image to Excel with ToolsCampus

Photos are straightened

Tilted, sideways and upside-down photos are turned the right way, and the paper is cut out of the background before it is read.

Real Excel values

Numbers stay numbers you can calculate with, and codes such as 0012 keep their leading zeros.

Many pictures, one file

Put the tables from several photos into one Excel file: all in one sheet, one sheet per table or one sheet per picture.

Questions, answered

Image to Excel questions

How do I convert an image to Excel?

Choose your picture above. The converter reads the table and shows it for checking, then you click Download Excel (.xlsx). It works the same for a JPG, a PNG screenshot or a photo, and no sign-up is needed.

How do I get a JPG into Excel as a table, not as a picture?

Inserting a JPG into Excel only places the picture on the sheet. To get the values into cells, convert the JPG to Excel here: every number and word lands in its own row and column, ready to edit.

Can I convert a photo from my phone to Excel?

Yes. Photo to Excel works best when you shoot from straight above, in good light, with the whole table in the picture. Blurry photos and handwriting give weaker results, which is why every table is shown for checking first.

Is my picture uploaded?

Yes, on this page only. To read tables, your pictures are sent to our own server, converted in memory and deleted as soon as the conversion ends. They are never saved to disk, stored, shared or used for anything else.

Is there a limit?

Up to 25 pictures at a time, 15 MB per picture, and 25 pictures per visitor in any 24 hours, because reading pictures takes a lot of work on our server.
