Why use it

Image to Markdown with ToolsCampus

Screenshots and photos

Tilted and sideways photos are turned and straightened, and small screenshot text is enlarged before it is read.

Tables stay tables

A price list or a table in a screenshot becomes a Markdown table with its rows and columns.

One file for many pictures

Pictures are kept in the order you chose and separated by a --- line in the same Markdown file.

Questions, answered

Image to Markdown questions

How do I convert an image to Markdown?

Choose your pictures above. The converter reads them and shows the text for checking; then click Download Markdown (.md) or Copy Markdown. No sign-up is needed.

Can I convert a screenshot of a table to Markdown?

Yes. Rows and columns in the picture become a Markdown table, with the first row as the header.

Is my picture uploaded?

Yes, on this page only. To read the text, your pictures are sent to our own server, converted in memory and deleted as soon as the conversion ends. They are never saved to disk, stored, shared or used for anything else. The Markdown itself is made in your browser.

Which languages can it read?

English, German, French and Spanish, including letters such as ä, ö, ü, ß, é, è, ç and ñ. Other languages written with the same alphabet, such as Italian, Portuguese and Dutch, usually work too. Arabic, Urdu, Hindi and Chinese are not supported yet.

Is there a limit?

Up to 25 pictures at a time, 15 MB per picture, and 25 pictures per visitor in any 24 hours, shared with our other OCR tools, because reading pictures takes a lot of work on our server.
