This policy explains what information ToolsCampus collects when you use the website at https://toolscampus.com/, why we collect it, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies from 10 October 2026.
Who we are
ToolsCampus is run by Omer Qureshi, an individual based in Pakistan (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the personal information described here. You can contact us about privacy at umerqureshi85@gmail.com.
The short version
- The PDF editor uploads your PDF to our server so your work can be saved. Files uploaded without an account are deleted automatically after 24 hours. Free account files are deleted 60 days after you last edit them.
- The other PDF tools and all image tools work inside your browser. Those files are not uploaded to our server.
- Our AI features (background removal, the AI cut-out in the Thumbnail maker, AI arrangement in the collage maker, and text recognition) run inside your browser. No outside AI service receives your files, and your photos are not used to train anything.
- We use your files only to give you the service. We do not read them for any other purpose and we never sell them.
- Analytics and advertising cookies are used only with your consent where the law requires it. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
Information we collect
Files you open in the PDF editor
When you upload a PDF or a picture to the PDF editor, it is stored on our server so you can edit it and open it again. We also store what you add to it: fields, text, signatures and images you place, and the finished PDFs you create. Pictures are turned into a PDF inside your browser before they are uploaded. The same applies when you send a result from another tool to the editor with “Open in the editor”.
Files you use in the other tools
Merge PDF, Split PDF, Organize PDF, Rotate PDF, JPG to PDF, PDF to JPG, Add page numbers, Watermark PDF, OCR PDF and all image tools (Compress, Resize, Convert to JPG, Convert from JPG, Crop, Watermark image, Collage maker, Thumbnail maker and Remove background) process your files inside your browser. Your files and the results are not uploaded to our server, and we cannot see them. When the image tools save a photo, hidden camera and location (GPS) details are left out.
AI and tool files kept in your browser
Remove background, and the AI cut-out in the Thumbnail maker, use an AI model (BiRefNet, called “Best”, which uses WebGPU on capable graphics cards, or U2-Net, called “Standard”). The first time you use it, your browser downloads the model files from our website and keeps them in its Cache Storage, so later visits start at once. Some other tool files, such as the text recognition engine used by OCR, may also be kept by your browser so they do not download again. These files are program files: they contain no personal information, and they stay on your device until you clear them (see our Cookie Policy). The text recognition (Tesseract) used by OCR PDF and by Edit text in the editor also runs in your browser. The picture of your page is not sent to us for it.
Your account
Every tool works without an account. If you create a free account we store your name, email address, a securely hashed version of your password (we never see the password itself), and the folders and files in your account (My Files).
Contact form and emails
If you use the contact form or email us, we receive the details you give us, such as your name, email address and message, and we keep the message and our reply so we can help you and follow up.
Email sign-up
If you sign up for our guides by email, we store your email address, the date, the page you signed up on, the wording you agreed to, and a one-way scrambled (“hashed”) version of your IP address that cannot be turned back into the address. We keep this as a record of your consent.
Technical information
Like almost every website, our server records basic request information such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use it to keep the service secure (for example to limit repeated sign-up attempts) and to fix problems. Short-lived security records are kept for about an hour; server logs are kept for a limited time and then deleted.

Advertising and Google
We use, or may use, Google AdSense to show ads on content pages such as the homepage, tool pages, guides and site pages like this one. We never show ads inside the editor or in My Files, and never next to download buttons.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
- To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Your consent choice
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland see Google’s consent message, a Google-certified consent management platform provided through Google’s Privacy & messaging. It asks for your choice about cookies and personalised ads before personalised ads are shown. If you do not consent, Google may still show non-personalised ads, which use cookies only for things like frequency capping, aggregated reporting and fraud prevention. Visitors in other places may see our own cookie banner instead. Wherever you are, the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page opens the choice again so you can change it.
Analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, for example which guides and tools are used most. Google Analytics uses cookies and receives information such as the pages you visit, your approximate location and your device type. We do not send your files or the contents of your documents or photos to Google. You can refuse analytics in Cookie settings, or use Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
Cookies
We use a small number of essential cookies (for example to keep you logged in and to let your browser reopen a file you uploaded to the editor without an account) and, with your consent where required, analytics and advertising cookies. Our Cookie Policy lists them all.
How long we keep information
| Information | How long |

Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share your files with anyone. We use a few service providers who process information for us:
- Our hosting provider, which runs the server where the site and files saved in the PDF editor are stored.
- Google, for analytics, advertising and the consent message, only as described above.
- An email service, if we send newsletters, which receives only the email addresses that signed up.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or others.
International transfers
We are based in Pakistan and our service providers may process information in other countries, including the United States and countries in Europe. Where the law requires it, we rely on safeguards such as the standard contractual clauses that these providers offer.
Security
The site uses HTTPS. Files saved in the PDF editor are stored outside the public part of the server and can only be opened by the account or the browser that uploaded them. Passwords are hashed. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not upload documents you are not allowed to share with an online service.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or download your personal information, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can:
- Delete files yourself in My Files at any time.
- Change your cookie and ads choice with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
- Opt out of personalised ads at Google Ads Settings.
- Unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email, or by writing to us.
- Ask us to access, correct or delete your information by emailing umerqureshi85@gmail.com. We will answer within 30 days.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
California residents: we do not sell personal information. If personalised advertising is on, the cookies involved may count as “sharing” under California law; you can opt out by choosing Reject all in Cookie settings. We will not treat you differently for using your privacy rights.
Children
ToolsCampus is not meant for children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK) and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will show a notice on the site or email account holders.
